The Startup Haven Podcast

Startup success is improbable. Improve your luck surface area.

About the Podcast

The Startup Haven Podcast is dedicated to venture-scale founders and investors.

Our mission: To improve the quality of life for venture-scale founders and by helping them increase probability of success.
The venture-scale startup journey is ridiculously hard and the vast majority of these startups fail. There are plenty of places that celebrate success stories and the anecdotal advice of those successful founders. This is not that place.
We want to understand what makes startup success so improbable and provide insights and inspiration that can help founders improve their probability of success.

Who It’s For:

  • Venture-Scale Founders: Full-time entrepreneurs building companies with the potential for venture-level returns.
  • Active Investors: Individuals investing in early-stage startups seeking deeper insights into the founder journey and the broader ecosystem.

Specifically, we want to discuss how to increase the probability of success for founders and (by extension) investors. Here are some of the topics we will discuss.

The Pivot

Pivots are a common and natural outcome of the immense uncertainty that venture-scale founders face. We want to explore the pivots of other founders and understand how to embrace adaptability and how to find the fortitude that can help turn a setback to a stronger strategy. These stories demonstrate how teams adapt when original plans don’t work out. It’s how founders discover new insights and make the decisions that shape the new direction. Others can learn practical strategies for evolving their own ventures.

Decision Making and Probability

Decision making is the foundation of startup success and the only thing that can move the needle of success for venture-scale founders. move the needle, leaning on probabilistic decision-making to steer a startup toward success.

The Ground Work Framework

Rooted in the core principles of the Startup Haven accelerator curriculum as well as the thesis of the Startup Haven Fund, the Ground Work Framework helps guide founders through the uncertain startup journey.

He is the founder and general partner of Startup Haven Ventures, a pre-seed venture fund and accelerator that has grown into the largest founder and investor community of its kind, with over 2,500 members across the U.S.
